Bob Davidson Ford Lincoln is proud to support Pathfinders for Autism, a Maryland based non-profit organization that supports and improves the lives of individuals affected by autism through expansive, individualized programming, and by providing resources, training, information and activities free of charge.
Pathfinders for Autism was founded in February 2000 by B.J Surhoff and his wife Polly Surhoff, and this year they are celebrating their 20th Anniversary with a 20 week fundraising and awareness campaign to celebrate 20 years of service to the community. Bob Davidson Ford Lincoln is very proud and excited to have been selected as one of the 20 honorees for Pathfinders for Autism's 20 for 20 Campaign for the support and involvement from our Owner, Bruce Schindler, and all of our employees over the past 20 years from sponsoring Pathfinders for Autism's events, performing fundraising campaigns and helping spread awareness to a cause we are passionate about. This campaign ran from February to June 2020, and our team of ambassadors helped us to proudly reach our $2,500 fundraising goal.
One event we have been involved in for many years is Pathfinders for Autism's Run Wild for Autism 5k & 1 Mile Fun Run at the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore. In 2019, we had a team of over 50 of our employees and their families participate in the race and help with volunteering at the event. Through our fundraising efforts for this race, our team was able to raise over $2,500 to benefit Pathfinders for Autism. Each year we also lead the race with a Ford Mustang and help cheer on all of the participants. Another great part about this event is that after the race, all participants receive free admission to the zoo for a fun-filled day with family and friends.
Another event we proudly sponsor each year is Pathfinders for Autism's Annual Golf Tournament and Awards Dinner. This fun day of golf at Hillendale Country Club is also a major fundraising event for Pathfinders for Autism with live and silent auctions thanks to the generosity of individuals and businesses in our local community. Members of our team help volunteer at the event and others participate in the golf tournament.
Through various fundraising events and initiatives here at the dealership, our team proudly participates in fundraising for Pathfinders for Autism throughout the year. We do a 50/50 raffle each month with employees in all dealership departments participating. 50 percent of the money collected goes directly to Pathfinders for Autism and the other 50 percent goes to the winner of the raffle. Thanks to the generosity of our employees, the winner often donates a portion or the full amount of the winnings back allowing us to raise hundreds of dollars for Pathfinders for Autism each month with this fun and simple raffle. We have also recently started what we call #CasualForACause on Fridays here at Bob Davidson Ford Lincoln where our employees may wear jeans for a $5 donation to Pathfinders for Autism. If you see our team in casual clothes on a Friday, just know we are #CasualForACause!
